Former Spanish prime minister is committed to Venezuela's political dialogue Caracas, 25 Ene. AVN.- Former Spanish prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero reaffirmed on Tuesday his commitment to support the dialogue between the Venezuelan Government and sectors of the political opposition in order to consolidate peace of the country. "I have bet, bet and will bet on a political dialogue, even in a situation of antagonism and insurmountable differences, as the only way for the future of that country," Zapatero said. "In Venezuela there is much to do and we will do it, in favor of peace and coexistence," he added. According to the Twitter account of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), an organization that participates as an observer in the dialogue, these statements were made by Zapatero to deny a media campaign ascribing false positions to ex-president saying "there is nothing to be done in Venezuela," in order to discredit the process. In October 2016, the Venezuelan opposition accepted President Maduro's call to work together in a dialogue for the peace of the country. However, after establishing a road map to ensure national stability, the right left the process. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
