CARTIER ECO
POLYISOCYANURATE FOAM BOARDS
Basic description
Cartier Eco wall insulation is a Type I Class 1 rigid polyisocyanurate foam faced on both sides with aluminium foil
facers. The manufacturing of the polyisocyanurate foam core and the lamination of the facing is a continuous and
simultaneous operation developing a tenacious bond between the foam and the facer, without the use of a separate
adhesive operation.
Uses
Cavity wall: In this type of construction the insulation is applied in the space between the inner and outer masonry
wythes.
Sidewall, inside: In this type of construction the insulation is secured to the inside face of the outer wall and the
interior gypsum board finish is applied either on furring strips (creating an air space) or directly to the insulation,
becoming an integral part of the assembly.
Sidewall, outside: In this type of construction the insulation is secured to the outside face of the outside wall. For
this type of application make sure that the minimum thickness required by the building code is used. See table on
next page as example. That thickness is in relation to the region (number of degree-days) and the design of the wall
(see section 9.25.1.2 of the National Building Code). Do not leave the insulation exposed to inclement weather and
cover as soon as possible.
Features & Advantages
Superior thermal resistance
Lightweight, easy to handle and cut
The multi-functional factory applied foil facers develop additional insulation value by way of reflectivity
contribution obtained when aluminum foil is facing an air space.
The foil facer also produces an efficient vapour and air barrier when sealed with tape or adhesive during the
application stage.
The factory laminated foil imparts strength to Cartier ECO which is not available with most other insulations.
The insulation is not toxic and has no characteristics that can cause skin irritation.

Safety Precautions
This product is combustible and shall only be used as specified by the local building code with respect to flame
spread classification and to the use of a suitable thermal barrier when required. Also it should not be exposed to
open flame or welding torches.
Standards, Tests and Approvals
Cartier ECO polyisocyanurate rigid insulation is manufactured in conformity with the requirements of CAN/ULCS704, Type I, Class 1 and was evaluated by Canadian Construction Material Center, report CCMC
09582-L.
Consult the manufacturer for additional information regarding acceptance for use in compliance with other codes,
agencies or construction authorities.
