What is ActiMaris® and how is it made?
Thanks to a newly developed technology by the scientific team of QuantumMedis, so-called
atomic, nascent or active oxygen (O1) is bound and stabilized to seawater.
Here atomic oxygen (O1) is inserted between the sodium and the chloride atom, so that only
in contact with solid matter, such as skin or mucous membrane, activated oxygen frees itself
and proceeds with its activity. (This is not the same as the industrial hypochloride!)
As it is above already mentioned, there are different terms for this "split" oxygen atom (O1):
"atomic", "activated" and/or "nascent" oxygen. In Latin also "oxigenii in statu nascendi",
plainly translated: "Oxygen in a new-born state". The new-born or activated oxygen can also
be created by separating out of an ozone molecule O3 in O2 and O or out of an oxygen
molecule O2 in O+O through physical influence like UV-light or electrical discharge. The
creation of ozone O2+O=O3 or oxygen from the air O+O=O2 are also natural reactions. Such
processes happen in nature daily every second, billions of reactions.
Activated oxygen is very "active" as its name states it, and therefore it has a strong tendency
to connect and react with nearby atoms or molecules by exchanging electrons. It has a very
strong «redox» potential.
Activated, atomic or nascent oxygen is not a new discovery, because this is also in fact the
active agent in medical ozone therapy, which has successfully been applied for more than l00
years for all possible indications. According to The German Medical Association there is
more than 5,5 million registered applications, that have been documented and estasblished by
treating as many as 500.000 patients with ozone, hence activated oxygen. Side effects have
been as low as 0,000005 % ! There are no documented studies, where there is such a low
percentege in side effects. This is not unusual if you consider that activitated oxygen is a very
important part of life that happens in and around us.

The activated Oxygen
Nowadays there is the possibility by means of ozone technology to get activated oxygen
into natural oils and other plant outputs - a process that is again constantly present in
traces, in free nature. An idea, that such additives in traces also could be used for skin
care, is new, and especially therefore attractive, when in this area the therapies have
showed good results in observations.
The first critic was: What brings us the activation of oxygen, what happens in case of overdosing, is it in a general sense necessary to improve skin nutrition? Well, over the years this
has been tested, some opinions have been stated about the interaction with bacteria and
viruses, but it demanded as well some dermatological opinions. Particularly the metabolic
exchange with oxygen has been researched on the level of knowledge at that time, and finally
a conclusion was underlined that it could be useful for the skin to be supported by such a
common natural agent.
Here must be fundamentally presupposed that the activitated oxygen has always been a part
of our cellular exchange cycle. Every inhaled oxygen(O2) is delivered through the circulation,
but is "activated" just before the oxydation-process, so that the oxygen radicals can step into
function. A great deal of these radicals are in function for the oxydation of nutritional matter,
but a minor part is connected to proteins and allow to appear as important ferments, catalases,
decarboxylases and hundreds of peroxydases, without which life cannot function.
The activated oxygen is not a new discovery of the mentioned procedure, but it is still
plays a constitual part in the evolution and existance of life.
Once Warburg said that the cancer problem can only be a result of a disturbed oxygen
exchange in the cell, where in case of cancer and sarcoms, in the sick tissues these
peroxydic substances are totally missing.
So there are people who are just short of, or miss these peroxydic substances, and
therefore they get ill in one way or another.
Critical Control
Apart from these for life important free oxygen radicals, there are also other peroxydes,whose
condition of radical activity is too agressive, so they "oxydate" too strongly. One very often
harmful component, which we meet daily in our life, brings us the sun light. But particularly
aggressive to the skin has shown to be the industrial peroxyde, and also hydrogen peroxyde
itself. Therefore we must determin if we have a medical or cosmetic preparation that is
friendly to human cells, or a very aggressive peroxyde.

Finally it can be stated, that the activated oxygen is a fully valuable enrichment for skin
care, if its activity is tested.

The Activated Oxygen

The dissolvement of nutritional matter in our body is only possible if oxygen from the
air is activated in our cells. Oxygen from the air is not activated yet when it binds itself
to haemoglobin. The first activation happens through the mitochondrial ferments, where
temporarly the toxic hydroperoxyde is built. Now through the simultaniously existing
and dissolving proteins, there occurs a binding with hydroperoxydes, resulting in the
creation of biological highly valuable enzymes, peroxydases like catalase, decarboxylase
and many other peroxydes, without which dissolving of protein and the generation of
new energy would not be granted.
Recently it was established that even 3 % of haemoglobin and urinary acid are submitted to
this severe oxydation process. Besides, one can proove that by the oxydative dissolvement of
cholesterol also the important sexual hormones are synthesized.
Therefore we can conclude that there is quite an importance in a properly functioning
peroxydic system. This oxydative potential is caused by a peroxyde-bridge, where two
oxygen atoms are linked in one molecule.
Now there are also bonds within the biological environment that can implement oxydative
strength without peroxydic bridges and in a softer intensity. A good example is vitamin C,
because it can take over an oxydative quality of a peroxydase and pass it on in a softer form.
And such mild oxydative agents can remain longer in the organism before they start acting.
Now the question puts itself:
Can also artificially created peroxydes, for preserving or also for revival of
tissue, for example burnt skin, restore and animate growth?
This question can be answered with a «Yes», if we first determin the safety of a preparation
and confirm that there is no hazardous potential to endanger cells by the oxydation process.
Lab tests for safety and efficiency
Lab tests have been carried out with Confarma Ltd., represented in Switzerland, France
and Germany, in the period from April to June 2006. Confarma Ltd. is listed by Swissmedic (the Swiss FDA). ActiMaris® has been tested for efficiency as a disinfectant, for
cytotoxicity (L 929-proliferation), and for irritation potential on the skin and mucous
membrane. (studies can be seen on our FTP-server)
Summary:
------------Laboratory and clinical studies have confirmed, that the ActiMaris® substance
(gel&solution), have a very wide spectrum of antiseptic action (bacteria,viruses and
fungi), while there is no skin irritation potential, no mucous membrane irritation
potential and even no cell toxicity potential.
At the same time it showed a significant shortening of the bleeding and coagulation time
when cuts were treated.
Clinical studies confirmed the ability, only after few weeks, that ActiMaris® can close
even chronic, diabetic and necrotic wounds.

*Sea water + activated oxygen
*Clean sea water (3g salt/litre or 3%); the sea salt comes from the Croatian island of Pag and
is extracted by the old celtic tradition and skill, namely by means of wind and sun.
The extracted sea salt is again dissolved in distilled water.
Now the pure sea water is enriched with activated oxygen and stabilized, so that only upon
contact with solid matter, like skin or mucous membrane, the activated oxygen is released and
proceeds its wide spectrum of action.

VETERINARY MEDICINE
The same indications as in humane medicine.
Application / Instruction:
ActiMaris® may be applied several times a day on the skin, mucous membrane and open
wounds. If necessary a plaster, gauze or a bandage may be put on the treated place. In
comparisson with iodine or alcohol it does not burn, but sensitive people can feel a slight
burning sensation on behalf of the contained sea salt. No side-effects or irritations have been
clinically detected.
For disinfection: first clean spot, then apply ActiMaris® and leave on for at least 2-3 minutes.
ActimMaris® can be used on babies, adults and the elderly. It can be also applied in
veterinary medicine for pets and other animals.
This preparation is intended for external application and not for digestion.
In case that ActiMaris® gets onto an unwanted place, simply rinse with water.
Important:
Please avoid any direct contact with colored textile, because the activated
oxygen herein can easely bleach colours!
