“My goal is to make a child’s first experience with Spanish an enjoyable one; to create an
awareness of other cultures, and teach basic vocabulary and phrases. The method to be used in
class will be teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPR-Storytelling). This
method will allow students to be engaged and become more excited to learn Spanish. I have
over nine years of experience teaching Spanish throughout the Eastside.” - Matilde Melendez

Return a copy of this form by email to Matilde (scan or take a photo) by April 13th to reserve a spot.
Make check payable to Matilde Melendez, and turn in with form at first class.
Mon. PM class:
Parents must email a copy of this completed flyer/form (scan or photo is fine) to their enrolled
child/children’s Kokanee teachers no later than April 13th , as well as reminding their children in the
morning each week that they have afternoon class, to help ensure that students do not go home on the bus
by mistake instead of going to Spanish class. It is highly recommended that parents also send an extra copy
to school in the student's homework folder, addressed to the Kokanee classroom teacher, and that the extra
copy be left in the folder for the six week session to avoid confusion, especially if there is a substitute
teacher.
