News and Announcements:
*** Parent-Teacher Conferences: Conference sheets came home on Tuesday night. Thank
you for returning those ASAP. I look forward to meeting with you all in March!
***Writing: We finished our opinion/persuasive writing unit. You will see a final product of this
type of writing at conferences. We are now starting our new unit of writing fiction stories. It’s
exciting to see the different characters are problems third graders come up with!
*** Math: Thank you for your support with the nightly homework! We are continuing in Unit 9:
Multiplication and Division with 6, 7, and 8 and Problem Solving. The third graders tried very
hard on the OLPA/Pre-MCA tests we had on Monday. It’s important to remember that these
tests are designed to test all third grade math and we still have many months left in third grade
for more math concepts. The math MCAs will come later this spring and I will let you know the
date(s) as soon as possible.
*** Multiplication Facts Update: We are continuing to test on multiplication facts. This week
we tested on Thursday and results were sent home. PLEASE continue to practice these
multiplication
facts at
home.
