The ViaSat Functional Abstracted Control Environment (FACE)
middleware software translates situational awareness information from
Link 16 equipped terminals, to non-compatible systems. Designed to
simplify HOST communication with Small Tactical Terminals (STT), the
ViaSat FACE application reduces the complexity of STT and Link 16
commands and statuses into simple abstracted messages. This highly
customizable, lightweight, interoperable, and cost-efficient software is
a perfect way to integrate Link 16 into legacy and proprietary platforms
that do not have Link 16.
The application is capable of running on existing processing power with
a variety of CPU configurations and requirements. This versatile software
can interface with several standardized tactical protocols, as well as run
as a server application that can support multiple client connections.
With tremendously fast integration, the ViaSat FACE can be quickly
deployed and ready to provide situational awareness to users.
