Feeding Amounts for Dogs As a general rule, a typical adult dog will consume 2-4% of their body weight per day; smaller dogs eating a higher percentage while bigger dogs eat a lower percentage of their body weight. As a rough guide, an adult cat will typically eat 4-6 ounces per day, so one ½ lb. pouch of our food would be enough for 11/2 to 2 days of meals.
