Art in the Park
We would love to have you join us and
participate in our 54th annual art fair under
sponsorship of New Glarus Vision, Inc. Art
in the Park will be located in our lovely Village
Park, centrally located in the business area of
our historic Swiss community. New Glarus is
nestled in the rolling hills of southwest
Wisconsin, 25 miles south of Madison. Drive
time to New Glarus from Milwaukee or
Chicago is about 2 1/2 hours.
Entry Information








The flavor of Switzerland is everywhere in New
Glarus. Experience fine Swiss cuisine at one of
our many outstanding restaurants. Lodging
accommodations are available at the beautiful
Chalet Landhaus Motel or the Swiss Aire Motel.
Come a day early and enjoy the 78th annual
ethnic performance (new shortened version) of
Schiller’s Wilhelm Tell Drama about the
legendary Swiss archer who freed Switzerland by
shooting an apple from his son’s head. The
drama is staged in a natural outdoor amphitheater
Our community is well situated as a staging
point for regional exploration. Points of
interest include historic Pendarvis in Mineral
Point, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesen and
Visitor Center in Spring Green.

New Glarus Art in the Park




Participation is open to all artists 18 or over
who exhibit work of original concept, design
and execution.
Media includes all fine arts and crafts.
Community Purchase Awards of $2000
minimum are available and will be selected
and awarded on Sunday.
Best of Show Award of $150 will be given to
the artist that receives the most votes by the
other artists.
20% of work displayed should be artist’s
original work. Prints are allowed if they are
artist’s work.
Artists must supply their own display, which
must have a professional look, including an
identification sign listing their name.
Artists must be present and the artist’s work
must be shown from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Each exhibitor’s booth space will be
approximately 12’ x 12’. Artists are fully
responsible for the care, safety and security
of their work and property. The Village of
New Glarus, Wilhelm Tell Guild and New
Glarus Visions, Inc. assume no liability for
loss or damage to artwork or other property
from any cause. Booths may be set up on
Saturday night.
Exhibitor fee is $100, separate check,
refundable if applicant is not selected to
exhibit.
Jury fee of $15, separate check, not
refundable. Late entry incurs $10 late fee.
Checks should be made payable to New
Glarus Vision, Inc.
Applications, including slides, pictures, or
images and fees must be postmarked by
April 15, 2016.
Amenities


A complimentary $5.00 food voucher will be
provided to each booth.
Booth sitters will be provided upon request.

Jury Procedures


All work is to be original.
Submit four slides or digital photos
representative of your work for each
medium you wish to exhibit. Slides should
be labeled with artist’s name and
numbered.
Provide a brief description, including
technique used, of each work pictured in
the numbered slides or photos.
Provide a list of juried art fairs in which
your work has been exhibited recently and
include location.
Send labeled slides or photos, descriptions,
and check with entry form and selfaddressed stamped envelope.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by May
15th. Un-cashed checks will be returned with
slides or photos in the event artists are not
accepted.




