NHS 24 is the European leader in telehealth and telecare. We are looking to recruit
Nurse Practitioners with nursing experience to join our healthcare teams across
Scotland. The range of patients who access our service is diverse and we require
nurses who can communicate in a positive manner to deliver care. We need Nurses
who are registered as Adult nurses on Part 1 of the NMC.

How do you deliver nursing care at NHS 24?
As part of a national service the Nurse Practitioner is the first clinical point of contact
to access health care in the Out Of Hours periods for all of Scotland
You will work alongside other healthcare professionals such as Pharmacists,
Physiotherapists and Doctors…to deliver a seamless journey for patients across
Scotland.
You will work autonomously with access to decision support software and real- time
clinical supervision. Patient assessment is conducted remotely via telephone. You
will use your clinical knowledge and expertise in conjunction with listening,
questioning and probing skills to triage patients in your care to safe clinically
appropriate outcomes.
Due to growing demand for telehealth services, opportunities are now available at
our main, local and remote centres. NHS 24 provides services during in hours and
out of hours periods and offers a rotational flexible rota. These rotas vary every 8
weeks and are variable according to patient needs.
Our Centres
NHS 24 has centres across Scotland, all of our centres are open in the out of hours
period with some also open during in hours. Locations include:
Aberdeen, Clydebank, Ayrshire & Arran and Tayside, Cardonald, South
Queensferry, Highlands & Islands, Borders, Dumfries & Galloway, Western
Isles, Orkney and Shetland.
Hours of Work
We are looking to recruit experienced Nurses who can commit to a minimum of 12
hours per week with a maximum weekly rota of 37.5 hours. Some rotas involve night
shift working and will include cover for public holidays including Christmas, New
Year, Easter and local public holidays taken by other Health Boards. We would be
pleased to speak to you regarding your working hours requirements.
NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 6
£26,041 – £34,876 pro rata plus enhancements for out of hours working, and
enrolment into SPPA pension scheme (Placement on salary scale is dependent on
confirmation of previous NHS service). We also offer you many supportive policies to
