Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
You may use FAFSA to apply for the HOPE Scholarship and many other forms of financial aid, including grants, loans, and work-study
programs. The best way to access the form is on GAcollege411.org or www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov . Be careful of websites that help
you complete the form for a fee. The first word in FAFSA is FREE! You should not be charged any money to complete it.
Federal Student Aid Personal Identification Number (PIN):
A PIN lets you apply, “sign” your online FAFSA, make corrections to your application information, and more – all online. Apply for a PIN
at www.pin.ed.gov. The student as well as a parent will need to request a PIN.
Selective Service System (SSS) Registration:
Males are required to register with SSS within 30 days of their 18 birthday. If a young man reaches age 26 without registering, he can
be PERMANENTLY BARRED from ever receiving: Federal student loans, Placement in a federal job training program, eligibility for a
job with the federal government, a driver’s license or license renewal in most states. In addition, male immigrants who wish to become
citizens can face significant delays if they fail to register by age 26. Register Today: Visit www.sss.gov !

Kaplan Test Prep – FREE SAT/ACT Crams Online:
There is still time to register for a free cram session. Kaplan Test Prep is providing free cram sessions for the SAT on March 14 and
ACT on April 18. Students who attend will learn their 10 Top Score-Raising Strategies and review tips for time management during the

University of West Georgia’s UWise Summer STEM Scholars Academy Program:
This is a 4 week summer program (running June 28 – July 25) for students who will be majoring in a STEM discipline and starting at the
University of West Georgia in the Fall of 2015. During the program students earn 6 hours of credit that counts in their Core Curriculum,
we introduce the students to the services available on campus that they receive as part of their tuition/fees that can help them be
successful, and we provide FREE room and board during the month of July for the students selected for the program. For additional

Paid Summer Internships for High School Students:
The TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program provides real-world experiences for high-achieving students with strong STEM aptitude.
Students are placed in companies interested in investing in STEM talent and impacting the future technology workforce. Our 2015 goal

What is the Academic Common Market (ACM)?
The ACM is a tuition-savings program especially for college students who live in the 16 states that are members of the Southern
Regional Education Board (SREB) the state of Georgia is included. How to participate in the ACM? You must first go to the website

While club deadlines vary, Essay Contests are conducted before Feb. 28 and Oratorical Contests are conducted before May 30. The
