Spokane, WA – November 4, 2013 – Northern Quest Resort & Casino is excited to announce
the promotion of Chef Robert Rogers to the position of Executive Chef. Chef Rogers has been
the Chef at Masselow’s since it opened in 2009, and has been instrumental in leading the
Masselow’s culinary team as they develop and create the offerings on their award-winning
menu. Under Chef Roger’s direction, Masselow’s has been awarded multiple prestigious
distinctions. Since its opening Masselow’s has received the Inland Northwest’s only AAA Four
Diamond rating every year. Most recently, Masselow’s was honored with the Best Fine Dining
Restaurant distinction for 2013 by the Washington Restaurant Association and the Inland
Northwest Tourism Awards. Chef Rogers is dedicated to providing an authentic farm-to-table
experience for Northern Quest guests. He works in cooperation with many local farms and
producers to create the freshest dining experience possible. Most recently, Chef Rogers was
promoted to Executive Sous Chef for the property and now he enthusiastically steps up into the
Executive Chef position.

Chef Rogers will bring as Executive Chef for the property. “We look forward to Chef Rogers
sharing the same passion for excellence in food and service that he’s inspired in Masselow’s for
over three years with each of the culinary teams at Northern Quest.” As the Executive Chef,
Chef Rogers will oversee and support the Chefs at all of the property’s 14 food and beverage
venues. He will maintain his supervisory role over the culinary team in Masselow’s while also
serving as the creative force behind the wide variety of culinary offerings at Northern Quest
Resort & Casino.
Chef Rogers grew up in Spokane where he graduated from Shadle Park High School and began
his culinary career at the Davenport Hotel as a table-side cook. His work at the Davenport led to

his life-time love of creating upscale, fresh cuisine. Over the years he has worked his way up
and been involved in every level of kitchen operations including, Line Cook, Chef, Food and
Beverage Director, Maître d’, Wine Steward, Corporate Director of Dining Services and now
Executive Chef. For the past 30 years, Chef Rogers has been involved in giving back to the
Spokane community and regularly participates in charitable dining events. He also volunteers
for his alma mater as a mentor in Shadle Park’s ProStart program – the high school program
affiliated with The National Restaurant Association.
