Presentation to Committee by Artist Hilary Inwood:
Handout outlining summary of meeting with subcommittee members and environmental art
project proposal distributed to committee members
Initial proposal mentioned only Grade 7 and 8 students to participate in project. Concerns
raised amongst committee members as funding was not promised to a project that does not
include all students
Ms. Inwood explained that given the budget, the quality of project would suffer if all students
were included in the scope
Conversation revisited later in the meeting. Proposal altered to include Grade 8’s and Grade 4’s
this year so as to include as many students as possible in coming years (assuming program will
continue) without duplicating students who have previously participated
Committee voted in favour of altered proposal
Ms. Pontes to be involved in working with students and maximizing participation
Presentation to Committee by QSP Rep, Jill Maslanka:
QSP rep invited to meeting to speak about campaign logistics
Rep mentioned that campaign sales are reduced by 50% on average when schools run the
campaign without any prize incentives for children
Approximately 80% of our campaign sales were via internet orders last year. Each year it gets
easier to report and run numbers due to increases in internet orders

to taste. Currently not a nut free program
