March 10, 2017 - Parchment School District

Parchment Panther Publication (P3)
March 10, 2017
Good Afternoon,
Here we are at the end of the second trimester. The time between winter break and spring break is
generally the long march and this year with all the sickness, it has definitely lived up to that reputation.
As we get ready for the third trimester, we look forward to spring and graduation. The Seniors are
getting antsy, nervous and excited. Remember, if you have a Senior student, third trimester is only 9
weeks long vs the normal 12. They take exams on May 18 th and 19th. Keep parenting them all the way
through the finish line!
Please contact me if you have any questions,
George Stamas
Principal

After School Activities
Sophomore Class Prom 2018 Culver's Fundraiser:
Our sophomore class Culver's fund raiser night was a huge success. Led by Jordan Leh, Emma Morsman,
and Kensey Gilbert, the students served customers from 5-8 pm.
It was great to see several students, staff members with families, and Parchment community members
come out and support the kids.

Crime & Conspiracy Club (new)
Our PHS Crime and Conspiracy Investigation Club is off to a great start! We have around 20 students
participating and enthusiasm is awesome. The cases we investigate have been determined by student
votes and they have chosen some great cases: Crime and Conspiracy Club will resume on Friday, March
17. We recently completed our investigation of the Jack the Ripper mystery. A majority of the students
concluded that the person is H.H. Holmes. Our next case is the JFK Assassination.
*Students are currently investigating the JFK Assassination followed by the death of Marilyn Monroe, the
alleged CIA mind control program MK-Ultra, secret societies in America, and the Zodiac Killer.
It’s never too late to join us every Friday at 2:40 to show your detective skills! See Mr. Mutchler if you are
interested.
Shark Tank Event
Parchment went up against about 35 other teams at the Annual Shark Tank Pitch Competition at
Davenport University. I am very proud of the student performance and behavior while attending the
event.
First place winners for the day included: Idgena Deloach, Mikayla Tipken, Darrion Turner, Karli Crouch,
and Kenneth Oldenburg. Congratulations to all students on a successful day.
The following students took second place: Tyler Ames, Keegan Czerniak, Chris Bautista, Lilly Adams, and
Austin Weekly.
