The TOODYAY NATURALISTS’ CLUB PRESENTS Drs MIKE and MANDY BAMFORD ECOLOGISTS BOBTAILS and DUCK TAILS Bobtails are a familiar but truly remarkable reptile. Omnivorous, live-bearing and very long-lived. Mike spent a year following them around to look at aspects of their biology. How many babies do they have? How big are they? What do Bobtails really eat when they can’t find strawberries? And why does Mike never use the term cold-blooded when talking about reptiles (except he just did). Everybody likes ducks… don’t they? Mandy likes ducks SO much that she spent a year studying them. Native Black Ducks can interbreed with domestic ducks and the hybrids are fertile. Does it matter if these birds interbreed and how common is it? Mandy and a team of little old ladies with umbrellas set out to find out. These are their fascinating stories.
