Unit 1 Number Systems Unit Review Day 1
Standard/Objective:
6.NS.1 Compute and represent quotients of positive fractions using a variety of procedures (e.g., visual models, equations, and realworld situations).
6.NS.2 Fluently divide multi-digit whole numbers using a standard algorithmic approach.
6.NS.3 Fluently add, subtract, multiply and divide multi-digit decimal numbers using a standard algorithmic approach.
6.NS.4 Find common factors and multiples using two whole numbers.
6.NS.9 Investigate and translate among multiple representations of rational numbers (fractions, decimal numbers, percentages).
Tuesday
Plan for the Day:
-Students complete FIRST FIVE.
-HOOK-Flocabulary GCF/LCM Video for Review
-Review skills from Friday and have students work sample problems on dry erase boards
to ensure mastery since class was cut short on Friday.
-Begin reviewing for Wednesday’s test.
-Give students sample problems to work in their notebooks or on white boards.
-Distribute study guide for homework.
-EXIT Ticket-Journal Entry-Explain the difference between GCF and LCM.
Homework: Complete study guide.

study for tomorrow’s test.
-Give students additional sample problems to complete.
-EXIT Ticket-Journal Entry-Describe how to divide decimal numbers.

Plan for the Day:
-Students complete FIRST FIVE.
-Have students finish up the Number Systems Assessment from Wednesday.
-HOOK-Flocabulary Ratios Video AND Proportional Relationships Video
-Use Flocabulary videos to introduce Unit 2 on Ratios and Rates.
-Review with students the fraction, decimal, and percent procedures from Wednesday.
-Discuss ratios as a way of comparing two quantities. Share examples with the class.
-Have students use their knowledge of simplest form to simplify ratios.
-EXIT Ticket-Journal Entry- How can what you have learned about Number Systems be
used outside of the Math classroom? (If they did not finish on Wednesday.)
