Consultation: Voluntary and Community Sector
grants applications to a commissioning approach
Kingston Council is considering moving the existing Voluntary and
Community Sector (VCS) grant budget to a commissioning
budget. This consultation is open to anyone for comment. Please
make sure that you, your staff, trustees and supporters repond.

Building Better Opportunities aims to
tackle poverty and social exclusion for
the most disadvantaged people in
England. London Voluntary Sector
Council recently held sub-regional
roadshows about the new fund and
have a website dedicated to the
information you need. You may wish to
register with the Skills Funding Agency

Mayor of London’s
Achievement Awards for 2015
Go Kingston Volunteering (GKV)
strongly urges volunteer involvement
organisations to nominate a volunteer.
Each year GKV has nominated a person
for this prestigious award. Last year our
very own Douglas Craik received a
special mention at the Mayor’s
ceremony and was recognised for his
outstanding contribution over the past
10 years. Deadline Friday 12 June 2015.

Heritage2Health: Sense Share
Enjoy at Ham House - 10 July
Storytelling, sensory walks, yoga,
singing, make a posy, faicepainting
and sandwiches from a local
bakery. Free to attend!
The garden, designed by Chris and
Lorraine Birchall of Tale Valley Nursery
in Devon and sponsored by Chartridge
Developments Ltd, featured a willow
sculpture to depict a Momentum family
and owl in a tree, to represent Mo the

Sportivate
Sportivate is a funding stream
aimed at community orientated
organisations to attract and sustain
11-25 year olds in sport and

Grant for individuals and voluntary
and community organisations
undertaking projects that
encourage and develop artistic
interests in young people in the UK.

Grants of up to £10,000 to support

for disadvantaged children and
The Annual Bullying Survey 2015 published
In partnership with 73 schools and colleges across the UK, this

current climate of bullying amongst 13-20 year olds in the UK

Free IT drop-in for refugees and asylum seekers
Refugee Action Kingston offers an IT drop-in every Wednesday
from 1pm to 2pm. If you have clients that would benefit from

It may be raining but don't ignore heatwave plan
The NHS England and Public Health England Heatwave Plan for
England is now active and alerts may be issued at any time to
reduce the impact heatwave conditions may have on older
people, the very young and people with pre-existing medical
conditions. Read more
Lloyds Bank UK Business Digital Index 2015
reveals huge basic digital skills gap in charities
The 2015 survey says that 58% of charities lack basic digital skills
but also highlights that progress has been made since 2014.

KBC Trust Grants for Youth
Projects
Grants will be considered for up to
£2,000 for specific projects outside
the organisation's core funding and
will be considered on their own
merits.
