The Collier County Branch of the NAACP and the Collier County
Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. have partnered
to initiate:
Goal: Creation of a classroom program to strengthen the
academic skills of minority students.
Participants: Any Collier County 7th grade minority students rising
to the 8th grade are eligible to apply for participation.
Students must have a minimum of a C+ average and
must have at least one reference from a teacher,
counselor or school administrator.
Program Description: This is the first year of a multi-year project to
better prepare students for college. Students
will be instructed each morning in language arts
and mathematics by board certified teachers
from Collier County Public Schools. There will
be two afternoon sessions, including an
opportunity for students to tour the campus of
Florida Gulf Coast University.
When: Two Weeks - July 27, 2015 through August 7, 2015
