Loweringthevotingagecanencouragebettercivicseducation.Thisisimportant
becauseonlyone-thirdofAmericanscannameallthreebranchesof
government,andschoolsarefailingtoprioritizeeffectivecivicseducationas
theyfocusonmeetingaccountabilitymeasuresinothersubjects.Letting16-and
17-year-oldsvotewillmakecivicsclassesmorerelevanttotheirlivesandcan
leadschoolstofocusmoreattentiononeffectivecivicseducation.
