expands the market of their successful and unique
product with introduction to the Pet Market at SuperZoo
in July 2014. Knuckle Lights are the perfect alternative
to bulky headlamps or carrying a flashlight, simply grab
them and go—they strap comfortably across the hands in
the perfect position to light a path and be seen by traffic.
Knuckle Lights were first introduced into the Running
Specialty market in 2011 as an alternative to headlamps
and flashlights for nighttime runs and walks. Many
runners are already using them for walking their dog, so
it is a natural progression that the company expand into
the Pet Market. “I'm not a runner,” states Chris Barton,
“but I recently purchased Knuckle Lights for walking my
dog in the evening and they are absolutely awesome!
Very comfortable in my hands, even while holding the dog's leash.”
Growth has been rapid for Knuckle Lights. The product can now be found in over 400 Running Specialty stores in the
U.S. as well as in several national retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and The Running Room. Sales growth was over
300% last year alone.
Knuckle Lights Founder Dan Hopkins said “When I first started the company a few years ago we had a narrow focus on
the Running Specialty market. We have had so many people tell us they use Knuckle Lights for walking their dogs that
we believe that every pet store should carry them to help make sure their customers
are safe. I actually didn’t have a dog myself until a few months ago, so I didn’t realize
just how handy Knuckle Lights are for walking the dog—they are easy to use with a
leash and make cleaning up after the dog a snap.”
Offered in five colors (Black, Blue, Silver, Pink
and Yellow), a set of Knuckle Lights includes
two units, each with multiple lighting options (high, low and blinking) and
powered by two AAA batteries (included). Knuckle Lights are designed with an
easy-access electronic power button, soft edging and an adjustable silicone strap.
The product is covered by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
