Friday 28th April 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! We hope that you all had a good Easter break.
We have already had a very busy start to our term in school but the children have settled back into their
routines well and they are already showing us that they are starting to get ready to move to their next class.
We have some exciting art workshops planned for the children during the next half term, starting with Panther
class on Friday.
We also have an exciting sponsored event taking place at the end of the half term, a ‘sponsored bounce’
which we hope that you will be able to support us with. Please see the attached sheet for details.

School Holidays in term time
We are currently receiving a number of holiday requests for children to be absent during term time. If you
have a holiday request this must be put in writing and addressed to Miss Gordon. Mrs Richardson, the school
Education Welfare Officer, will reply in writing to each request. At this point we would like to remind you of
the school’s attendance policy which is available for parents and carers on the school website. The Governing
Body of Lee Brigg agreed to the issuing of fixed penalty notices for unauthorised absences which may include
holidays taken in term time. This was agreed in July 2013 and remains part of the school policy. It had been
suspended in light of a case highlighted in the media, however the resolution of that case reverts school
decisions back to the current attendance policy in place.
Attendance – School target 96.5%
Congratulations to everyone in Jaguars class for achieving the highest class attendance this week.
This week’s class attendance figures are:
 96.5% in Tiger class
 96.8% in Lion class
 98.3% in Leopard class
 99.3% in Jaguar class
 98.9% in Panther class
Our school attendance figure is 98.2%.
Yours sincerely
