SHAKESPEARE’S WALKING WEEK 17 – 24 April, 2016 In April 2016 Stratford upon Avon will be commemorating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. To mark the occasion, during the week 17th to 24th April, the Ramblers will lead a programme of daily walks which are open to everyone – residents, visitors, members and nonmembers. Almost all of the walks will start from the steps (pictured) outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, on the south side of Bancroft Gardens and close to Stratford town centre. Most of the walks will have a connection with Shakespeare and will follow some of the routes that he will have taken. The walks will vary in length, ranging from 2 miles to 11 miles and each will be led by an experienced walks leader. Some of the routes and other walks are described in a booklet entitled “Stratford Walks”, which is available from the Stratford Visitor Information Centre.
