Beyond Google – How to Navigate through the Obstacle Course of Research
If your students drown in Google, come learn how to throw them a life raft. This session will make you a smarter captain of the research
sea and in turn show you how to teach your students to challenge the internet and REALLY research online with vetted, authentic
research resources.
Using Six-Word Memoirs as a Critical Thinking Tool
Are you looking for ways to challenge your students to summarize, find theme, and analyze key people and processes in your
curriculum? Six-word memoirs can help! Plus, use them as a starting point for written response, and easily assess student

your very own room. Learn ways to help students make the most of revision. No more boring descriptions, it’s time to pack up and
move to a new room where elaboration and imagination play.
Power of Math for Deeper Thinking: Math & Literacy Intertwined
Targeting math (and science) teachers, participants will gain further knowledge of new math standards with examples and
opportunities to work with math/literacy activities. Dig deeper into Mathematical Practices, unpack standards and look at new
assessment resources to gain further understanding of recent changes in Florida requirements.
Science Inquiry: Diving Into Deep Thinking
Through a hands-on inquiry based learning model, participants will learn best practices of inquiry and questioning techniques. During
this session, teachers will also learn about the integration of technology, literacy standards and the new science standards NGSS.
So You’re Not a Reading Teacher?!

mentor text and interactive activities.
Hands-On Equations: Demystifying Mathematical Expressions
Wouldn't it be amazing to see elementary and middle school students solve complex equations such as 2x + x + 4 + 2x = 3x +10 in 30
seconds or less? Participants of this hands-on session will learn how to use the Hands-On Equations’ visual and kinesthetic approach to
build a conceptual understanding of mathematics. Participants will also be introduced to the digital component of the program, which
is highly affordable and equally effective.
Using Google Apps for a Paperless Classroom
