KIDS’ ZONE NEWSLETTER
WILLIAMSBURG NEWS
It’s hard to believe that this is the last newsletter of the year, every
year seems to go by faster than the last. We have some exciting
things going on at Kids’ Zone the last month of school. Nina is kicking
off our month with Star Wars week, followed by Music Week
planned by Courtney, and ending with Beach Week planned by Liz.
Our last few weeks of the year also promise to be really fun! Go Big
or Go Home week is going to be a week long birthday party, celebrating everyone’s birthday over the year and doing traditional
birthday party things. We will have musical chairs, a piñata and end
our week with cake and ice cream. Finally as always, our last five
days of school will be planned by the kids. I have been collecting
ideas throughout the year of favorite activities that we have done
and will be repeating some of those during Best of KZ week.
On Friday May 19, we have a half day of school. Our activities that
day will be chosen by the King of Kids’ Zone, winner of our Match
Madness tournament, Evan E. As always we will be watching a movie
and your child will need to pack a sack lunch.
Lastly, I hope most of you have connected to Seesaw, an online
platform that helps teachers and parents connect. Williamsburg has
been lucky enough to pilot this program to adapt it to before and
after school and it is something we will hopefully be implementing
program wide in the following year. Ask us how to get connected!

GENERAL KIDS’ ZONE REMINDERS
 All participants should treat each other, staff and
equipment with respect.
 We provide all participants with 30 minutes of homework
time. Homework time is quiet time.

Keep your reading skills sharp this
summer by joining the Geneva
Public Library’s “Adventure by
Design” Summer Reading
Program. Read and complete the
first log to earn coupons for local
businesses and a chance to win a tablet. Keep reading or
choose a combination of reading and activities to complete the
second log and finish the program. Participants who finish the
program receive a prize book of their choice and are
automatically entered for a chance to win an iPad Mini and
other fun prizes. Register anytime May 24 onward by coming
to the Geneva Public Library or visit our website at
www.gpld.org for more details.

 To ensure everyone’s safety, participants need to wear
athletic shoes everyday to fully participate.
 Please make sure your child is dressing appropriately for the
weather. We will enjoy the outdoors as much as possible!
 Label your children’s coats and other belongings. Be sure to
check our lost and found daily!
 Remember you must sign your child in and out each day.
This is very important. Also please understand for the safety
of your child we will ID anyone picking up your child that we
do not recognize. Thank you for your cooperation and
understanding.
 Please remember if your child is going to be absent to call
the site to let us know. Our phone is only on during
program operating hours but feel free to call anytime.
Please leave a message with the date and your child's name
if calling them in for the day.
 Electronic devices and toys should stay home. The Park
District will not be responsible for them.
