Box 0944 Evanston, IL 60204-0944 Dates to Remember The Cherry Scholarship Fund is looking for scholars—students who may have struggled in high school, but who love kids and are dedicated to working with young people. Please help by encouraging deserving individuals from the Evanston community, particularly those who will graduate from ETHS in 2016, to apply for a Cherry Scholarship. And please note that scholarships are now available for part-time and graduate students. 2015-2016 dates: Applications available – Dec. 1, 2015 Application Deadline – March 15, 2016 Interviews – April 10, 2016 Award Dinner – April 24, 2016 Golf Tournament – June 25, 2016 Warren “Billy” S C H O L A R S H I P www.cherryscholarship.com Chairman’s Corner First, I have some exciting news—our 22nd annual golf outing was the most successful ever. A record 80 golfers turned out for the event at the Highland Park Country Club on June 27, netting $31,000 for our scholarship program. Thanks to the members of the Golf Committee, and particularly to co-chairs Bill Bridges, Jeff Doman, Joe Keitel, John Powell, Bob Reece and Bart Rocca. Next, I would like to thank Tiffany Chapman for her years of service as she leaves the Cherry board. At the same time I want to welcome two new members to the board: Matthew Hunter and Jake Rohde. As always, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone on our outstanding board, and to the ever-growing community of friends who support our efforts. I invite you to join us for our next Award Dinner on April 24, 2016. And don’t forget the annual golf tournament scheduled for June 25, 2016. I should point out that even during these challenging economic times, the Cherry Scholarship Fund has found a way to expand our outreach to part-time and graduate students. We need your help so we can continue our work of investing in the education of our youth. I sincerely hope you will consider making a contribution to the fund. Finally, I think it’s important to note that several Cherry Scholarship recipients are now teaching our future leaders. Without that scholarship, their dream might never have become a reality.Thank you in advance for your kind support.
