Dear Mustang Families, IXL Practice over the summer is an important way to maintain students’ hard earned math knowledge and get a first look at new skills. This year, instead of having just one set of skills for all students in a grade, we are targeting our work more specifically to students’ needs. At Step Up Day this year, math teachers will share with your child which of the lists below they should work on. If your child forgets which list they were assigned, please call the front office over the summer. In some cases, your child will be working on a skill they have already practiced this past year. This is intentional to allow them the repetition needed to permanently learn the skill. Once they finish a skill, IXL will allow them to go back to the beginning on that same skill and continue practicing. Summer IXL continues to be built on time practicing. Students in grade 6 complete 6 hours over the summer. Students should complete as many skills as possible in this time. In the event that students complete all of the highlighted skills below prior to 6 hours, they should either complete some of the same skills a second time or work on additional skills in 6th grade to meet the 6 hour minimum requirement. If you have difficulty accessing IXL or have questions please contact Dr. Weiss over the summer at [email protected]. Thank you so much for your help. Parent support is a huge part of your child’s success in math. List 1 6th grade skills: B1, B4, B6, B7, C2, C5, C6, D1, D2, E4, F1, F4, F6, F9, G1, H1, H6, H7, I9, J3, J6, K10, K11, L4, L5 List 2 6th Grade skills: D1, D2, D, D5, D10, D11, R1, R2, R4, R6, R7, R10, R11, R12, X1, X3, X4, U1, U2, U3, U4 ++
