INTRODUCTION
Opened in Summer 2015, the Jefferson Performing Arts
Center (JPAC) is the only professional theater of such
magnitude in Jefferson Parish and is centrally located
in Metairie, LA. With a seating capacity of 1,065, JPAC
is able to accommodate all forms of entertainment from
theater, concerts, and dance, to lectures, meetings,
graduations and more. The expansive lobby is suitable for
hosting various functions with regional catering favorite
Messina’s as the exclusive food and beverage provider of
the facility.

House Curtain
The theater’s main house curtain is manually controlled and is hung on a traveler track
for manual bi-parting operation on stage right. It is located on the most downstage
counterweight line-set batten. The curtain measures 60’ W x 30’ H.
Stage Floor
The stage floor is made up of one layer of 1 1/8” plywood with 1/2” sound board and
another layer of 1 1/8” plywood sub-flooring. It is covered with both a black Roscoe
primer paint and interior paint to finish. Some fasteners are permitted, and only
approved dance floor/spike tape is permitted for use on the stage floor. A reversible
(grey/black) marley dance floor is available for rent.
Orchestra Pit Lift
The Orchestra Pit consists of two drive systems for the main pit platform. The pit lift
can be set at stage level, audience level and orchestra/storage level. At audience
level, the pit can be equipped with 56 additional seats upon request. The lift system is
a fixed speed lift system and is not configured as an “effects lift” with variable speeds
or ramped start/stop functions. Removable stairs with removable hand rails are also
available for each side.

LOADING DOCK
Stage Door/Loading Dock
The stage door and two loading docks are located on the northeast side of the building.
The available loading plates are 6’ wide and truck docks are 48” high. The theater dock
roll doors’ openings measure 9’ x 13.5’. The roll door from the loading dock area to
upstage/stage left is 30’ x 10’.
Load-in/Load-out
One truck bay is to be open at all times for deliveries except during production related
load-in/load-out and should be closed immediately upon completion of load-in/loadout, pick-ups or deliveries.
Furniture dollies, hand trucks and flat-bed carts are not supplied by JPAC. Any major
construction, staging, prep work, power requirements or running crew space required
in the loading dock area must be coordinated with the JPAC staff or is subject for
removal. No painting is allowed inside the venue or on the dock’s concrete surfaces.
Any trash or construction debris, including sawdust shavings, metal shavings, etc., in
the loading dock and/or stage area is the client’s responsiblity and should be removed
daily.
Truck/Bus Parking
Parking for show related trucks and buses are located on the north and west side or the
large parking lot adjacent to the venue. Shore power is currently not available.
Preferred entrance for artists, technicians (traveling or local) and packaged deliveries
is through the loading dock door.

Rigging
Fly System
JPAC has a J.R. Clancy counterweight rigging system. Operation is from either of the
locking rails located on the stage left deck and the stage left mid-bridge. Both locations
are equipped with dimmable white lights. Mid-bridge is also equipped with blue index
lights.
There are 69 total battens (60’ in length with 6” between each batten). Batten
capacity is 1500 lbs. above batten weight. Grid height is 75’. The fly rail and all
components are restricted for use and are only operated by JPAC staff or qualified
trained personnel.

Overview
The stage power includes three 3-Phase 400a, 600v-, 60Hz, 250v Company Switch.
On stage power includes three 400 Amp. JPAC has acoustic retractable draperies
along house right and house left walls. Use shall be determined by the visiting
company depending on the needs of the specific event.

Overiew
JPAC has 10 dressing rooms, all of which are equipped with Clear-Com audio with
independent volume controls. Back of house also includes a Pit Assembly Room (675
sq. ft.), a Green Room furnished with a leather seating arrangement, and a Wardrobe
Room (360 sq.ft.) equipped with 2 washers and 2 dryers. There is also an office space
available for use directly behind the stage.
