Abouttherole
TBFF is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the design and implementation of new pilot
projects. The main responsibility of this post will be taking our latest pilot, Compass, from inception to
implementation. Working closely with the Head of Project Design and Evaluation, this role will oversee all
elements of project management and M&E to ensure successful delivery of the pilot project and
developmentofthenextphaseoftheproject(scale-up/replication).
Compass(NavigatingKnowledgeandAspirations)isamentoringprojectthataimstohelpyoungwomento
realise their potential and develop a strong sense of identity and belonging to British society. The project
aims to bridge a gap where young women are entering higher education but not the workforce, helping
them to make informed choices and fulfil their aspirations. It will do this through raising and broadening

their academic and career aspirations, removing barriers to higher education and the workplace, and
supporting them to engage critically with the wealth of knowledge around them and navigate the
challengingideologiestheymayencounteronaday-to-daybasisinasafespace.Thepilotwilltakeplacein
fourschoolsinTowerHamletsandRedbridgethathaveidentifiedstudentswhowouldbenefitfromcareer
mentoring and positive adult role models, working collaboratively with schools and parents to help raise
youngwomen’sacademicandcareeraspirationsandbroadentheirknowledgeofopportunities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in project management, particularly in designing
and implementing new projects and taking new projects to scale. Ideally, they will also have expertise in
youth empowerment, education, gender and preventing extremism, particularly in a UK context. The
successfulcandidatewilljoinadynamicanddevelopingteam,meaningaspectsofthejobdescriptionmay
adaptovertimetoreflecttheneedsoftheorganisation.

ProjectManagement:
o Responsibleforplanning,managingandqualityassuringprojectprocessesandbudgets
includingdevelopingandmanagingtheprojectplan.
o Managerelationshipswithkeystakeholders:schools,teachersandfamilies,mentorsand
mentees,serviceproviders,otherTBFFteamsandseniormanagement.
o Ownershipofprojectdocumentation–proposals,contractsandcore
scripts/communicationplans.
o Reportingonprojectprogressincludingoversightofdevelopmentandimplementationofa
robustM&Eplantoincorporateregularlessonslearningduringthepilotphase.
o RepresentingtheFoundationexternallyateventstopresenttheproject.

o Continuedscopinganddesignforphases2+3ofCompass(workshopsonremovingbarriers
tohighereducationandtheworkplace,andvisitsbyrelevantguestspeakers).
o InvestigationanddevelopmentofscalingandreplicationopportunitiesforCompass,ifthe
pilotprovessuccessful.
o Maintainliteratureandevidencereviewtoinformandinfluenceprojectdesign,i.e.keeping
abreastoflatestprojectsandpolicydevelopmentsinthisspace.
o SupportHeadofProjectDesigntodevelopexistingandnewideasforpilotsintoproject
conceptoptionstoinformmanagementdecisionsondirectionoftravel(e.g.developing
projectsfromscopingtopilotstage).
o Supporttodevelopmentofpotentialfundingproposals(wherenecessary).
