4:00 PM – Racing out of the starting blocks will be a cash bar serving Mint
Juleps, Mimosa or Bourbon Specials. Then off and running with derbythemed Hors d’oeuvres.
4:00 PM – 4:55 PM – Place your bets
5:00 PM – Singing of my “Ole Kentucky Home” and Kentucky Derby
6:00 PM - The Trifecta will be dinner embracing Kentucky Hot Brown, Bourbon
Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Shrimp & Grits all served buffet style. Finishing fourth
will be scrumptious desserts.
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Entertainment - Local artist, Matt Basler will perform.
A self-taught singer songwriter from Southern Illinois will play a variety
of music with roots in rock and blues.
$25.00/person.
Attire: Casual, Formal, HATS
Prize for best hat and best dressed “Southern Gentleman”
Reservations required. Tickets are available in the office or Pro Shop.

Compete with a PGA pro. Call the Pro Shop to sign up/register.
$10.00 Entry Fee. Payout (in Pro Shop Merchandise) will be
determined by number of players. Ties split winnings. In case of rain,
final round score of your pro will be used.
The tournament will proceed as follows:
1. Before play draw a pro. Only pro shop staff will know your pro.
2. Play Saturday OR Sunday using your handicap.
3. Play from White Tees.
4. Your handicap score & the score of your pro will be added together.
5. Sign and turn in score card. Winners will be picked Monday.

Remembering Zella . . . .
Zella and her husband Gene joined Franklin County
Country Club in the 1940’s following World War II. A
plaque reading “E.K. Spani Room” can be found on the
card room door in honor of Gene for his loyalty and
contributions to FCCC. He spent many hours playing
cards with his friends in that room. Gene died in 2003.
Zella, a retired school teacher, continued her
membership through 2016 and enjoyed being a part of the
Ladies Association for many years. She recently passed
away just short of her 100th birthday, July 25, 2017.

Golf Course:
 Head mechanic, John Suckoll has spent the month of
March preparing our ground equipment for the golf season.
 Five additional carts added to our fleet.
