FRICTION
Some items to be given as project work for class-08 students.
They can do any one of the following. The report should be in at least two A4 pages.
1. Collect information about various new techniques being adopted by human beings to reduce
energy losses due to friction. Prepare a note on that.
2. How does friction change according to the smoothness of surface? Explain with examples..
3. List out some situations where friction is useful in our daily life. Where friction is un useful in
our daily life?.
4. “Friction produces heat.” ………. Give any 10 examples in our daily life to support this
concept. Collect the photographs of that situations.
5. How kites are made in the view of reducing fluid friction. Report it. Collect related information
from internet or daily news papers.
