MANDATORY RECALLSERVICE BULLETIN (AUS)
2010-2012 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl Bicycles
Dear Cannondale Retailer,
In cooperation with the ACCC., MONZA IMPORTS AUSTRALIA is conducting a safety recall.
This recall is a result of reports of some 2010-2012 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl bicycles developing fatigue cracks
where the axle meets the fork leg. Fatigue cracks grow with use and can result in a broken axle. There is a risk that the axle
may separate from the fork leg, with risk of an accident or injury.
We are notifying consumers via a Safety Recall Notice (see: www.cannondale.com) to please stop riding and bring affected
bicycles to the nearest Cannondale Dealer for inspection and fork replacement. The consumer recall notice includes the
affected model information below and instructions on how to identify the production date codes subject to recall.
Please follow the “Actions to Take” on page 2.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation in this important safety program.

MANDATORY RECALLSERVICE BULLETIN (AUS)
2010-2012 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl Bicycles
Actions to Take
1.
Please check your sales records, point of sale system and
contact any known customers of the listed bicycles.
2.
Bicycles subject to recall can be confirmed by looking at the
production date code on the bottom of the fork leg. See
identification chart in “Subject to Recall”.
3.
Please ask any customer with a bicycle that is known or
suspected to be subject to this recall to visit your shop with
the bicycle. If customer is not sure, or does not wish to look
underneath their bicycle, ask them to bring the bicycle to
your shop for identification.
4. If the production date code confirms that the bicycle is
subject to recall, please remove the front wheel. Carefully
clean and inspect the area where the axle meets the fork leg.
5.
If any crack is observed, the fork may not be used and must
be replaced. Call Cannondale for an expedited, no charge
replacement fork. Early in this program we have a limited
number of replacement forks and will prioritize replacing
forks that cannot be used.
6.
If the bicycle shows no signs of a crack, it can be ridden with
periodic inspection of the fork until the replacement fork is
available.
7.
Removed forks subject to this recall should be field
destroyed to prevent possible re-use. Please use a hack saw
to cut fork leg in half.
The date code is located on the bottom of the fork. Look for
the first character of the code as compare with table below to
find out if the bicycle is subject to this safety recall.
