They make a variety of projects, including some they design themselves. Creativity is encouraged. The camps have an adult leader, and a number of teen counselors who are trained in teaching sewing and managing a group. Each day at camp starts with “talk time” and an intriguing or funny Question of the Day, to help kids get to know each other. As children advance through a series of projects, both their skills and self-confidence increase. Extra activities include lunch at Cascadilla Falls, visits to downtown Ithaca fabric stores, knitting, fashion drawing, and draping on half-scale dress forms. All materials are provided, including a sewing machine to use at camp. Our camps are enjoyed by both boys or girls. Everyone succeeds! SewGreen
