e Dear Diary,
Today at sea has been an amazing day. Mummy and
Daddy went to eat with all their friends in their pretty
dresses and tuxedos. While, I ran around on deck. I met
three dogs and two other children. We ran around the ship
and went exploring. The ship is so big we almost got lost!
We went to the gymnasium and played on the bikes that did
not move. Then we snuck into the ballroom and all the
sitting rooms for the grown ups. We tried to find the car that
was on the ship but we could not find it. Finally, I raced with
my friends from the end of the boat to the front. We were so
tired we just stood at the end out the boat and looked out to
sea you could see miles away. The water was clear and
blue almost still, simply peaceful. My parents finally found
me, they were not happy I had run off and that was un
becoming of a lady. My mum made me put on a pretty dress
and go to dinner with them. We walked down the grand

You will get such a fright when I tell you the news of the tragedy during
my journey to America. I am not sure when this letter will reach you,
more than likely you have witnessed the ghastly events in the
newspaper but pictures could never describe the actual event that took
place. I was in my room and everything jerked very violently, I was
almost knocked out of my first class bed. Later, men came screaming
down the hall “EVERYONE TO THE LIFEBOATS NOW”. I had no time
to grab any of my possessions, looking back on it though I see how silly
it was to crave my possessions when others were craving their lives. I
was into the first life boat as the ship was going down. They never would
tell us exactly what was wrong, just that women and children into the
lifeboats first. I was one of the fortunate ones to even be placed in a
lifeboat. The lowering down of the life boat seemed to take decades
when finally we reached the water. We were the first lifeboat to leave
the ship. This meant that we had to watch the whole tragedy of the
“unsinkable ship” sinking. Later I was told there were not enough life
boats on board to save everyone. I witnessed people jumping off the
ship as she was going down and thought to my self “no! wait get in the
lifeboat! Men, women and even some children were jumping. I cannot
