NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
1983, 1985, 1988, 1995
On behalf of the Dinos Football 5th Quarter Association (“5Q”) and UC Football,
we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support of the
2015 5Q Dinner. In light of the recent economic conditions that burden our Canadian
economy, the level of support for last year’s dinner was very impressive and greatly
appreciated by our organization. The 2015 5Q Dinner generated approximately
$225,000 that will be used by the 5Q to provide scholarship and operational support
for the UC Football program.
This year’s 5Q Dinner will be held Thursday, April 28 at Calgary’s Hotel Arts. We
are extremely excited to announce that our headline speakers this year are two of
Canadian Sports Televisions’ most colorful and successful personalities, namely, Jay
Onrait and Dan O’Toole. Jay and Dan now grace Fox Sports1, but are Canadian to
the core. The 5Q Dinner Committee anticipates an amazing event that will include
‘behind the scenes’ in-site and a few laughs as Tony Spoletini returns to host the
evening.
As in the past, our dinner sponsorships will be: GOLD - $10,000 and SILVER
- $7,000. While we are aware of the conditions in which we operate, the 5Q is
determined to deliver a dinner experience that is worthy of your support. Accordingly,
we are optimistic that you will consider supporting the 5Q Dinner again this year. To
renew your dinner sponsorship, please contact Kelly Hayes at [email protected].
Thank you again for your past support and we look forward to seeing you at this
year’s event.
Sincerely,
Harry Andersen

DAN O’TOOLE
JAY ONRAIT
After graduating in 1996, O’Toole took his first job in
broadcasting as the traffic reporter for in Vancouver. In 1998,
he moved on to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he would
spend three years as the station’s sports director. O’Toole
returned to Vancouver in late 2001, as the sports anchor for
CityTV. In late 2002, he moved to The Sports Network. In
2003, he was teamed with Onrait at the anchor desk.
Onrait broke into television as an editorial assistant at
Canadian cable giant The Sports Network in 1996 while
attending university. He made his on-air debut at Global
Television in Saskatoon in 1998, and then held a series of
different posts before landing back at TSN in 2002 as a
host and anchor on the channel’s evening highlights show
SportsCentre. In 2003, he was paired with O’Toole.
When the Canadian pair teamed up in 2003, they found their match with similar dry humor matching wits at the
anchor desk. The pair infused their personalities and wide-ranging pop culture references into the nightly news
and highlight platform, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon that delivered a run of dominant ratings north
of the border. After being first nominated in 2010, Onrait won the Gemini Award for Best Sportscaster in 2011,
receiving the distinction from an academy that honors excellence in Canadian English-language television. In
May of 2013, Onrait and O’Toole hosted their final episode of SportsCentre, before heading to the United States
for the August launch of FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports Live.
