
Make Flashcards

Post words around the house (on TV, doors,
walls, cabinets, etc.). Student must read the
word before opening door or cabinet, or before
turning on TV, etc.


Pick a group of words. See how many words the
student can read in 1 minute. Practice each
night. Time the student again a few days later
and encourage him/her to beat his/her score!
Play memory with 5-10 words. Put each word on
two flashcards. Shuffle the pile. Place all cards
face down. Turn over one card. Read the word.
Turn over another card. Read the word. If the
two words match, player gets to keep the
match. If they do not match, flip them both
back over. Each player takes a turn until all the
matches have been found.
