Next week, we are continuing to use our book “The Scribes of Alexandria” to inspire our Big Write, which we will be completing on
Friday.
In Maths, we are recapping negative numbers, continuing our work with percentages, decimals and fractions, and trying to get better at
estimating before calculating a question.

write about on Friday. What was your story
about? Which time period was it set in? Who
were your famous historical characters?

are not just trying to write a great story but also
teach your reader what…
 Get an adult to help you continue your research
at home about your period of time in history.
Focus on your historical character- who were
they? Why were they important? How are you
going to link them to your story?

real life
 Look for negative numbers in real life- what do
they mean? Why do we use them?
 Next time you go to the shops, ask children to help
you calculate how much the shop will cost by
rounding numbers up to the nearest whole pound
and adding.
