Monday Morning Memo
October 24, 2016
Whole School Big Goal: 85% of our 5th
graders at or above the 85th percentile in MAP Math & Reading
Our Weekly Community Commitment & Path to Success Skill
Our whole school focus this week will be “Integrity”.
General Announcements & Reminders
- Q2 Peer Observation Challenge: Woohoo! Let’s observe! Please see info on the challenge here. Also, observation
forms, the point sheets, and all peer observation info is in the teacher workroom closest to the main office. Please
hand in completed forms to your point person’s box in that workroom. All Observations are due December 16.
- Report Card Folders: Please give Inmar your signed Report Card Envelopes and your sign-in sheet

once ALL of your
conferences have been completed in person.
- Career Dress Up Day: Please follow the Career Dress Up Day timeline here to get our kiddos ready to dress up on
Monday 10/31.
- Birthday Parties: Just a reminder that if families want to celebrate a child’s birthday, we do birthday celebrations only
the last part of the day (3:00-3:15pm) and we ask that families
only bring ONE treat (i.e. one cupcake for each child).
Please see your point person if you need help de-escalating any birthday celebrations in advance:).
- Trunk-or-Treat: On Halloween (10/31) from 6:00-7:30pm we will be hosting a “Trunk-or-Treat” for our kids and
community members. If you are interested in filling up the trunk of your car with (store bought, individually
pre-wrapped) treats, decorating your trunk, and parking your car in the front lot, thereby creating an exciting and safe
place for neighborhood kids to trick-or-treat, please email Pepper by 6pm on Monday (10/24). This is a totally
volunteer activity and all expenses would need to be covered by individuals. We will send notices out to families once
we have enough interest in people participating.
- Halloween Parties: Because Halloween is a holiday that not all of our families celebrate, we do not have homeroom
halloween parties or give out candy (from us or families) during the day. If you have families that want to do
something, invite them to donate treats for the “Trunk-or-Treat”.
- DESSA: We will be piloting the DESSA mini on our kiddos this fall (due Nov 18). We will do a training during GL team
meetings on 10/25
- Early Dismissal Duty Schedule: Please review the 1pm Dismissal Duty Schedule, so we are ready to get our students
home safely on Wednesday.
- MUSC School-based clinic forms/Title 1 forms: If your entire class has not returned these forms, please resend them
home requesting parents to complete and return them by Wednesday 10/26. If parents have questions about the
forms, please direct them to Dr. Pepper.
- Extended Day Trimester 2: We’re still looking for teachers who are excited to work with our kiddos in the afternoons
from November 7th - February 17th! We have openings for Florida MWF, Clemson M-F, Coastal Carolina M-F,
Gamecocks MWF, Xavier TTh, 1st Grade Academics on MWF and TTh, and 3rd Grade Academics MWF and TTh.
- TSheets: The new and improved TSheets begins this week so don’t forget to have your hours in by 7AM on Monday
morning. Here is a link to the one pager you were given. Feel free to reach out to Olivia or Dixie with questions!
- HR: Olivia will be taking over HR responsibilities on Monday! Please reach out to her and CC Dixie with any needs or
questions.
- T-Shirts: Just a reminder, staff should be paying for all Meeting Street T-Shirts that they get from the office. Short
sleeve are $5.00, long sleeve are $10.00 and sweatshirts are $20.00. Thank you!
- Supply Closet: Teachers, please refrain from getting supplies out of the supply closet in the front office without
informing Ops. We are more than happy to get you what you need but please just enter it into the request system.
When things go missing it interferes with inventory. Thank you!
- Mailboxes: Please don’t forget to check your mailboxes in the teachers workroom by the main office!
