Recently, more and more Taiwanese people are traveling to Guam. “hello” and can be the same as “Aloha” in Hawaiian. One of the most famous places to see is “Two Lovers Point”. This is a cliff (a flat mountain) and there is a very romantic but sad story to it. A young Chamorro girl was supposed to marry a Spanish soldier but she was in love with a Chamorro boy. When the girl’s father learned about this, he and a group of Spanish soldiers chased them to the cliff. The boy and girl tied their hair together, kissed one last time and jumped over the cliff into the water, never to be seen again. Even if you don’t know the story, it is a beautiful place to see the ocean! Although Guam is small, there is a lot to do and see. The sand is soft, the water is clear and warm and it is close to a lot of stores. Speaking of shopping, Guam has many kinds of shopping. Language Learning Navigation Center The Newsletter Issue 3 15 Sep, 2014 Teachers in the LLNC will offer mini-clubs based on subjects such as Business, Games, Art Appreciation, etc. The club will meet once a week for two hours. The course session will last 5 weeks. If a student misses the signup for one session the student can sign up for the next one. There will be three sessions of each club per semester. Students can sign up for a session through the LLNC website. It should be noted that students might need to buy a book or some materials to be used in the club depending on the type of club. Language Learning Navigation Learn More! Join a Mini-Club! by Bradley Stephens The Language Learning Navigation Center (LLNC) now offers mini-clubs to students. Mini-clubs are a fun way to learn more about a subject in a short matter of time. It’s perfect for the busy student who wants additional knowledge but has a lot of things going on in their life. Over the next few issues teachers will write a short summary of the clubs being offered. Check future issues to learn more about the clubs being offered this semester. Additional information can be gained through the LLNC. We all look forward to seeing you in our miniclubs. We had a large number of participants this year with five fully loaded teams competing in events. Teacher Ruby led the singing class with the song Last Christmas winning first place in the competition. Teacher Phil taught how to make international ad campaigns. Mad props went to the ads for Selfie Stick, Super Water, and Da Yeh bicy- cle.
