Dear Fellow entrepreneur:
Over a year ago I had a skeptic email me and say: “Why would I need your
package? I can just go to the local state licensing board and get my dealers
license!”
My reply: “Yes, please go ahead and call them. See how much it is to get started,
and then call me back.”
Less than a week later, the prospective student emailed me saying he couldn’t
believe what he heard:
Here is what the state agency told him:
1. He needed a car lot.
2. The car lot needed to be fenced in, and be well lit and approved by his state
licensing board.
3. He needed an opening inventory (read: Tens of thousands of dollars to
start!)
4. He needed to pay licensing, bonding, and insurance, all totaling more than
$60,000!
5. He then figured he needed a sales staff, and to pay them salary. With a
secretary, and two car salesmen he figured his payroll expenses would be
$1,500 a week, or $6,000 PER MONTH.
6. The rent on the lot was $7,500 per month on a busy street. The crummy
building he looked at was a glorified shack with peeling paint and the
interior smelled like a wet dog. He wondered why any customer would buy
a car from this place. Then he wondered how much MORE money a
“better” lot would cost him! Furthermore, he wondered if this was such a
great “spot” how come the other dealers before him failed!
7. Soon, it became apparent to the student that he would have tens of
thousands of dollars PER MONTH in overhead, expenses, and fees. And this
is BEFORE he even sold his first car!
8. It soon dawned on the student that guys with MORE knowledge and
experience than him came and went- went out of business that is, in this
same location. This student found out the hard way with a bit of research
that he NEEDED my manual and my blueprint to get a dealer’s license

Here is the email I sent back to this former skeptic:

students don’t have the headaches of dealing with a jealous sales staff, or people
not showing up to work, paying high rent, and outrageous state licensing fees.

The student signed up immediately and bought my package. Several months later
he emailed me to say it was the best decision he ever made. He was buying and
selling cars using my craigslist model- all from the comfort of his own home office.
So let’s do the math on Jarrod’s case: If he would have gone through his state’s
licensing process he would have spent a ton of money right off the bat:
-Lease deposit on his car lot $7,500, plus first and last months rent, $15,000.
($22,500 total)
-Three months of payroll expenses (just to get started) ($6,000 a month x 3=
$18,000)
-Beginning inventory: 10 cars @ average $3,000 per car = $30,0000
-Bonding, insurance, fees: $60,0000
Opening signage, print material, advertising $5,000
TOTAL proposed beginning expenses: $135,000
Jarrod avoided paying almost ALL of the above! With my program he didn’t NEED
a car lot or a staff! He just needed his dealers license and a few cars as beginning
inventory! By ordering my package, and not walking blindly like the other suckers
to his local state agency, Jarrod saved $130,000 of his own cash. Over the course

INSTEAD, Jarrod started off with two cars. The first car was a 1995 accord that
Jarrod picked up from a broke college kid who was transferring to a college closer

The second vehicle he bought at auction- a Ford Windstar minivan.
The Accord had a little bit of rust but a reasonably clean interior. Jarrod detailed
the car himself in one afternoon. Within a week, he flipped the car for $2,500
cash on craigslist, netting him a $1,400 profit after reconditioning costs.
The Ford Windstar he picked up for $1,800 at auction. The windstar took more
reconditioning. Jarrod called out a mobile detailer to steam clean the carpets, the
headliner, and engine. He had them wax the vehicle. Jarrod also bought new
wheel covers at walmart for $50, and mats for $30. Jarrod’s total expenses into
the Windstar were $80 at walmart and $200 for the mobile detail job. Jarrod thus
far had $2,080 into the van. He sold the van a little more than two weeks later to
a family - for $3,800- Realizing a profit after reconditioning costs, mats and
wheel covers of $1,720. Jarrod had made a profit of $3,120 in less than 3 weeks,
while spending ZERO on advertising! Craigslist ads are free, afterall.
His “secret”?
1.) He bought the cars at the right price. He only bought cars that he KNEW he
could mark up and sell for more money after detailing them.
2.) He listened to my advice in my manual and invested some money in a good
digital camera and photos. He used my “picture technique” that I teach in
my manual to post excellent sales-worthy ads to craigslist.
3.) He didn’t charge any silly dealer fees or have any gimmicks. He bought the
cars “right”, reconditioned them, and resold them for more than he bought
them for, while still delivering a good value to the customer.
This $3,120 in profit Jarrod made was more than he was making at his “regular
job”, and a hell of a lot more fun. Jarrod is now up to 20+ cars per month and has
gotten his brother in on the act. They rent a modest warehouse space for $700 a
month to store their cars. They also use the warehouse space as a makeshift
photo booth for their Craigslist ads, just like I instructed them to do in my manual.
Jarrod is now clearing $15,000-$20,000 per month in profit with LOW overhead of
just $700 in warehouse space rent. (He got the warehouse space after his
driveway started resembling a used car lot). He shows cars by “appointment only”
meaning he only has to be at the warehouse a few hours per day to show cars.
