Question ceramic cups

Question ceramic cups
University Council meeting 26.01.2017
Even though the outsourcing of the Food&Drinks services has already been discussed in the
University Council, we would like to take the opportunity to mention a current issue. If you
buy a soup in one of the university restaurants, you can choose between eating your soup
there from a ceramic bowl, or choose the takeaway option of a paper bowl. If you buy a
coffee, however, you do not have this choice. Coffee can only be purchased in paper cups.
From students, we heard that they would appreciate the option to buy coffee in ceramic
cups, as coffee and tea from an actual cup does taste a lot nicer than from a paper cup. At
the same time, it would also make the restaurants more sustainable.
In the process of outsourcing the Food&Drinks services ideas like this one can of course be
implemented. Our question, however, is to already make this change in the meanwhile, until
the Food&Drinks services are actually outsourced. Therefore, our question, would it be an
option to have paper cups and ceramic cups in the university restaurants and can the CvB
agree to look into the feasibility of this plan?
