DEBRIEFING – EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT
Safety:
What safety issues were not identified and could be managed more effectively?


Hard hats on boats? – these are a hazard on boats and are not necessary to wear
Hearing protection for blower operator and people working around the blower would be
useful
Equipment Deployment:
How could we have improved the equipment deployment portion of the exercise?


Perfect scenario would have incorporated anchors
Exercise was rushed because of weather
Equipment Deficiencies:
What equipment deficiencies did you see?

none
Communications:
How can we improve communications? (ie: was the sound acceptable? Were directions clear?)

radio reception in this area is limited
Training Effectiveness/Exercise Improvement:
How can we make these exercises more effective?


100% of group indicated that this training was effective for them
Training twice per year may be beneficial
Lessons Learned:
What were the lessons learned?


Application to previous knowledge is very helpful
Standing up to volunteer as captains very helpful
Other Types of Training:
What other types of co-op exercises would you like to see?
 Not training, but access to a list of consultants’ phone numbers to call for assistance
Other Equipment Needed in this Area:
What additional equipment would be beneficial to this co-op area?

A-frame signs to set out, rather than pounding into the ground
