Aloha Kakou,
I am very grateful to all who have volunteered their time and
expertise into this project. It is my sincere hope that you will find
more than just the one key to open the Universe of curiosity,
mathematics, physics, the power of the word, understanding,
enjoyment, quiet pride, and love for those who have gone before us.
It is they who created a way to surround their progeny with the
desire to holomua i ke ‘ano. After all, we are all the combination of
Ke Akua’s glorious creation.
Each place, each family, and each person is different. Yet we
stand upon the same foundation of Kupono, Malama, Kokua,
Aloha, and ‘Hoomaika’i.
“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

of “Recalling Hawai`i,” choreographed and directed by
Founder and Kumu Hula Bailey. The crowd-pleasing
multi-media spectacular proved its success in eight presentations to date, from Germany and Switzerland, to Kaua`i,
Maui, Hawai`i, O`ahu and Northern California. The seed for this outreach project was planted with the enthusiastic
response received from charter and Hawaiian immersion school teachers and organizational leaders.
How to translate the magic and excitement that hula and experiential learning hold into an easy-to-teach and fun-tolearn classroom lesson plan? Guided by an educational committee chaired by a retired teacher, this DVD is Ka `Imi’s
answer to that challenge. Suggestions for hands-on homework assignments that require students to watch, experience, and
think critically and creatively within everyday life
surroundings are also included in the enclosed Study Guide.
