• P
aper – fax paper, window blind paper, or

• Color markers
Steps:

2. If using a solid color of paper, the child can draw designs on the paper using markers.
3. Fold the paper along the width, with pleats every ½ inch.

4. Glue popsicle sticks to the ends of the paper,
allowing 1 – 2 inches of the stick to extend past
the edge of the paper. On the other end, the paper
should extend past the popsicle sticks several inches.
5. Pull the pleats together tightly and tie string around
the end where the paper extends past the popsicle
sticks. Tie the string around several times, as closely
to the end of the popsicle sticks as possible. (You can use tape for this step if you do not have
string.)
6. Pull the two sticks together to form a round fan.
7. Use it to cool off!
