These should always have the Sight Word Board your child is working on, the Spelling Cards your child has been assigned, and a Just Right book your child has chosen from his/her leveled basket. These are based on the results of their current tests. There are 4 leveled Spelling lists in our room. Students change Sight Word Boards as they pass them and earn a snowflake. This week we are aiming for everyone to have completed the White Board (1A). We will aim to complete 1B by the end of the Grading Period. They are called Sight Words because the student has to be able to read them without sounding them out…within 3-5 seconds. Classroom Zoo Research should be very basic and simple to do. We will write reports at school using the information they gather. If you need help with habitats or costumes, please let me know soon so I can start to plan and gather. The shoe box diorama habitats are usually the most popular. Posters are fine, but can be difficult to share in the actual zoo. Costumes can be as simple as a printed paper mask or as Pinterest Crazy as you want to get. This is will end up being one of their favorite 1st Grade memories!
