Greetings
by Reverend Diane Sickler
Dear Friends,
Let us reflect on eternal
life. When Jesus resurrected
on Easter morning, he was
demonstrating the eternality of
the soul. Death is the last great
fear for humankind to
overcome.
As children, we were
taught many fears that, as
adults, we are working to let go
of. The fear of snakes, the fear
of strangers, the fear of the
dark, the fear of thunder, the
fear of being alone, the fear of
ghosts, etc., are all going by the
wayside as we mature and face
them head on. Some of these
old fears are harder for us to let
go than others… but let go of
them we will, as we persist in
our pathway of unfoldment.
Life is of God. Often we
even use the world ‘Life’ or
‘Being’ as a synonym for God.

We recognize God as the great
creative force in the universe
and remember we are created
in God’s image.
Most of us have long
since discarded the notion that
we are the physical image of
God; but are, instead, the
mental and Spiritual image of
our creator. If we are the
image of a Creator whom we
can call “Life”, then it follows
that we also are life. There is
no beginning or end to life; it
just exists.
Jesus taught, “I am the
resurrection and the life” (John
11:25). Many would have us
believe that Jesus was teaching
us to believe in Jesus. But if we
think of Jesus as symbolic of
the “I Am” or the “Christ”
nature, this verse says
something else entirely. It says
that the presence of God within
every person is the resurrection
and the life.

Passed from this earth plane on Wednesday April
5th. She will always be remembered for her
contagious smile, her love of music, her joyful
support of the children, her beautiful art work, her
willingness to serve, her laughter and (of course) her
French accent.
Simone had a stroke that left her speechless and
unable to walk and lived the last couple of years in a
nursing facility. She inspired all the nurses and aids
as she inspired all of us with her cheerful attitude
despite her circumstances. At the time of her passing
she was surrounded by family and friends. We who
have been missing her presence with us in worship,
will miss her physical presence on this earth plane.
The family is planning on having a Memorial service
for her this summer (when they can all attend). We
will be hosting this service here at Unity of NEPA.
