Our goal is to engage and challenge our students to become 21st century learners. At Ladd Acres, achievement and academic growth are important. In the year to come, we will continue to focus on differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students through a standardsbased learning system. We will use Common Core State Standards (CCSS) to emphasize text exploration, explicit language/vocabulary/writing instruction, and an integration of math and science across all subject areas. Additionally, we will also focus on technology integration within a standardsbased learning environment. Teachers will use iPads and Apple TVs in every classroom to enrich and develop skills that will successfully prepare students for the future. You can support your child by actively participating in their learning experience. Please communicate regularly with your child's teacher to set goals, review growth, and collaborate on a plan for your child's success. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring that all Ladd Acres students are prepared for academic success in the 21st century. Thank you, Principal | Francesca Sinapi SCHOOL PROFILE STUDENTS ENROLLMENT 201415 K3 45 68 MEDIAN CLASS SIZE 504 292 145 67 School Oregon 28.0 28.0 25.0 25.0 SelfContained Departmentalized SELECTED DEMOGRAPHICS Economically Disadvantaged Students with Disabilities English Learners Different Languages Spoken Regular Attenders Mobile Students 42% 11% 20% 19 >95% 8.0% American Indian/Alaska Native, 0% Asian, 15% Black/African American, 2% Hispanic/Latino, 21% MultiRacial, 10% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, 2% White, 50% * is displayed when the data must be suppressed to protect student confidentiality. 0% 20% 40% 60% 80% 100% OVERALL SCHOOL RATING HOW ARE STUDENTS AT THIS SCHOOL PERFORMING COMPARED TO THOSE AT OTHER SCHOOLS? The overall school rating is intended to summarize this school's particular successes and challenges. It is based on a combination of up to five factors. Three of these factors come from standardized test scores in reading and math: student achievement, student growth, and the growth of underserved subgroups. Please note that this rating is based mainly on high stakes testing and, accordingly, doesn't represent a complete view of your school's performance. Other aspects of this report card are designed to put this rating in the proper context. The U. S. Department of Education has given the State of Oregon approval to temporarily suspend the assignment of school ratings during the transition from the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to the new college and career readiness assessments. Schools will not receive an overall school rating on this report card and will receive a new overall school rating on the 201516 school report cards. l5 ve Le ve Le ve Le 90% l4 45% l3 15% l2 ve Le Le ve l1 5% Below Average About Average Above Average OREGON REPORT CARD 201415 Hillsboro SD 1J Ladd Acres Elementary School DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT Mike Scott For more report card measures, including detailed demographic information, visit www.ode.state.or.us/go/RCMeasures PRINCIPAL Francesca Sinapi 2425 SW Cornelius Pass Rd GRADES SERVED K6 Hillsboro, OR 97123 (503) 8441300 schools.hsd.k12.or.us/laddacres/Home/tabid/970/Default.aspx PROGRESS ARE STUDENTS MAKING ADEQUATE GAINS OVER TIME?
