PGE TRAILS: RULES AND REGULATIONS Point Buchon Trail 1. Trail may be closed at any time due to severe weather. 2. Remain on the marked trail at all times for your safety – exceptions are considered trespassing and subject to intervention up to and including arrests. Return to the checkin station 15 minutes prior to trail closure in order to leave the property prior to closure. 3. Access to the ocean is only permitted at Coon Creek Beach. Be alert for changing ocean conditions (tides and waves) at Coon Creek Beach. 4. There is no drinking water or shade on the trail. Restrooms are located only at the check-in station. Close-toed footwear is recommended. 5. No pets, smoking or open flame, alcohol, tobacco, or firearms, are permitted on the property. Stay clear of ranch electric fencing. 6. Access and trail use is for pedestrian hikers only. All users are required to sign the Point Buchon Trail waiver prior to entering onto the trail. Users requesting access to the trail may be subject to a security check. 7. Access to the property and trail is only from Pecho Valley Road through Montana de Oro State Park – no other access is permitted. Access is limited to 275 users per day on the Point Buchon and Pecho Coast Trails combined. 8. Respect the existing agricultural operations; keep a safe distance from private residences, fences, gates, equipment, water areas, livestock and working animals. Do not feed or pet the working animals. 9. Respect the natural and cultural resources of the area; do not disturb or remove anything from the property or ocean (no collecting or poaching, etc.). Do not litter; bring out all items that were brought in. 10. The trail may be closed for Diablo Canyon Power Plant Security or Emergency Plan operations. If you hear the emergency warning siren sound, return immediately to the check-in station for further instructions. 11. Commercial photography is not permitted without prior authorization from PG&E.
