Heat element version (d) 1 = high temperature 2 = low temperature Design details The air temperature after the heater must not exceed 40°C and the heater is equipped with two independant thermostats; GT1 and GT2. On reaching the factory set high temperature limit of 120°C, GT1 will trip the control circuits to the heater and the supply fan via a 2,5 min. timer. The GT1 thermostat must be manually reset. GT2 is a control thermostat, set lower than GT1 at 90°C, that trips the control circuit to the heater on reaching the factory set temperature. GT2 resets automatically when the heater has cooled sufficiently. The capacity stepping switch must be installed so that it resets to the first step on tripping of either GT1 or GT2. The heater conforms to Swedish electrical standards for air handling units and meets IP43 in accordance with IEC 529. The heater must not be installed as an in- duct heater. All other control equipment must be supplied by others. GT1 and GT2 are thermostats with factory preset temperatures. Under normal operating conditions, the EUEK air heater does not require any maintenance. Should any heating failure occur, this may be caused by the control circuit having been opened. The supply air fan interlocks the control circuit of the air heater. The supply air fan cools the electric heating elements in the air heater after the ventilation system has shut down. The period of cooling can be preset on the time relay inside the electrical equipment cubicle of the unit. When the unit is in operation, auxiliary relay HR1 is energized. When thermostat GT1 opens the circuit, auxiliary relay HR1 will be deenergized and an alarm will be initiated. Operation 1. The system can be started either manually by means of switch S1 or automatically by means of time switch GX1. The fan will be started and the air heater will be switched in sequentially by the stepping switch. 2. If the temperature in the heater should exceed the value preset on limiting thermostat GT2, the air heater will be tripped. It will be switched back on again automatically when the temperature has dropped to below the thermostat setting. If a fault on the equipment should cause the temperature to rise beyond the value at which overheating thermostat GT1 trips, the fan and air heater will both be tripped. GT1 must then be reset manually after the fault has been cleared. 3. To prevent cold air from being supplied to the premises in the event of a fault on the air heater or its control equipment, a thermostat should be installed on the supply air side to stop the unit after a delay of about 10 minutes after starting of the system if the temperature should drop below the preset value (about +10°C).
