Welcome Back!
By Shae Smith, PTSA President
We hope you are already enjoying the 2011-12 Bullard school year. Just two weeks into school and things are
hopping! From Family Nights at local restaurants, to the upcoming kick-off of Boosterthon, as well as registration for
After School Classes…there is a lot of activity to BE INvolved in. As you probably know the theme for this year is
just that – BE INvolved. We want to share ways for you to make a difference by contributing your time and talent to
our children, so please visit the website bullard.ptsamail.com, and if possible attend our Volunteer Coffee on
Wednesday, September 14. Until then, we hope you will be at the PTSA meeting on September 6, during Open
Houses and we’ll look forward to working with you in the year ahead.

Note from the principal
Dear Bullard Students and Families,
Welcome back! We are looking forward to another wonderful year! This
has been an extremely smooth opening thanks to the collaboration among
parents, students, and staff members. Just to let you know, all Bullard buses
arrive and are unloaded by 7:30. If at all possible, we’d love to see you on
the buses. However, if you are a car rider, please keep in mind that there
isn’t a wait prior to 7:30. In an effort to decrease the length of your stay in
car line, we have several staff members available to let at least 5 cars out at
a time. Our goal is to get your students to class as safely and quickly as
possible. As always, the tardy bell rings at 7:50.
Have a great year!

BOOSTERTHON!
An EPIC Adventure awaits us as we near the 3rd Boosterthon Fun Run!
Starting Tuesday, September 6th, Boosterthon team members will be on
campus sharing tips on what it means to have EPIC character with our
classmates (and at home!). It will all culminate with the Fun Run, where
every student receives a t-shirt and participates in the event, on Thursday,
September 15th. What does it mean for Bullard? Last year it funded 20
laptops in portable carts to be used in two computer rooms while classroomaccessible, as well as Science Day funding, & teacher grants!! This year it
will once again fund teacher grants, and projects determined by our classes
to make improvements for Bullard’s upcoming 10th Anniversary! We
need your support to make it successful. Thanks in advance for BEing
INvolved!
An e-blast went out on Monday
with the opportunity to pre-order Spirit Wear.
This will be the last order of the year. Please
see the e-blast or http://bullard.ptsamail.com for
an order form. They are due FRIDAY, AUGUST
26th. Please return a completed order form and
your payment – made out to Bullard PTSA – to
your child’s teacher. Orders cannot be accepted
after Friday.
NEXT SPIRIT WEAR DAY: Friday, 8/26. By grade
level, the classroom with the highest percentage
of students wearing their Bullard spirit wear
(from any year – or plain blue or white shirt) will
receive a surprise!
