Alternate Picking Sixteenth Notes on Multiple Strings
Picking Sixteenths: The inherent feel of straight sixteenth
notes has a very “straightforward” character. The picking
pattern is also even-numbered (4 notes per beat).
The Picking for Sixteenths
This means that you can easily predict the type of pickstroke for
each note within the pattern, since you only have 2 pickstrokes.
A Very Specific Accenting Pattern
First, a reminder: always begin with a down-stroke. This will make it MUCH easier to plan out full
picking patterns.
The 4 pickstrokes should be accented as follows:

Primary Accent (Loudest)
Soft
Secondary Accent (Not as loud as #1; louder than #2 and #4)
Soft
As with the 6-note patterns from Week 2, when you play the full picking pattern, it naturally leads right
back into a DOWN-STROKE, since the last pick-stroke is an UP-STROKE.

The primary purpose of this session is to get you playing sixteenth notes on a single-string at a wide

Every day this week, begin your practice routine with the above exercise at several different speeds.
Follow the kick drum as you play along; you should be picking on every single kick drum hit.
