TRULY SURRENDERING TO GOD
involves letting go of one course of action
in order to commit to
GOD’S COURSE OF ACTION.

ZACHARIAS AND ELIZABETH
were willing to abandon their plan of having children
and commit to God’s plans for their lives,
despite the pain, despite their fears.

WHAT HAS GOD
called you
to give up?
What does He
want you to pursue
IN ITS PLACE?
#2 Surrender is a process that often includes
doubts and questions.
BIBLICAL CHARACTERS
we consider heroes of our faith
doubted and questioned God.
#2 Surrender is a process that often includes
doubts and questions
Thinking, doubting, and questioning, is
often a part of the surrendering process.
AND GOD IS PATIENT WITH
US THROUGH THE PROCESS.
#3
Disbelief stifles the
surrender process.
UNBELIEF
that is certainty that God can’t do what he says,
is a prideful stance to take.
#3
Disbelief stifles the
surrender process.
Is God calling you to let go of your
COMFORT, REPUTATION, FIVE YEAR PLAN, or
SAFETY, and COMMIT to following him into the
unknown?
WILL YOU AT LEAST BE WILLING
TO ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT?
#3
Disbelief stifles the
surrender process
WE CAN BE GREATLY ENCOURAGED
that if a man who the bible identifies as righteous
was unable to believe, then people like YOU AND ME
CAN STRUGGLE WITH DISBELIEF
and expect the same love and patience from God.
#4
Surrender is a process that
needs to be repeated.
WHEN WE COME TO CHRIST AS OUR LORD
we become students who learn what it means to
not only surrender our sins to Jesus,
but also our time, our
bodies, our affections,
our tongues, our minds, our will,
and our relationships.
